About Icey
Hi, my name is Yiyao, you can call me Icey. I am a recent Master’s graduate from the University of Sydney and hold the International Chinese Language Teacher Certificate. I specialize in teaching Mandarin in a fun, interactive, and flexible way. My lessons are flexible for each student, ranging from 30 to 60 minutes, and are suitable for learners of all ages — from complete beginners to intermediate students. Instead of a traditional class style, I focus on engaging tutoring methods, using games, conversations, cultural stories, and real-life examples to make learning enjoyable and effective. Beyond tutoring, I have broad interests in photography, sports, and the arts, which allow me to bring creativity and cultural insights into my sessions. My goal as a tutor is to help students feel confident, stay motivated, and truly enjoy learning Mandarin and Chinese culture.
