About Hala

Hi, I’m Hala—an experienced, certified educator with over 12 years in the classroom and a proven track record of helping students grow academically and gain confidence in themselves. I hold a Professional Educator License in the state of Illinois and specialize in supporting K–8 students across reading, writing, and social studies. My tutoring sessions are clear, purposeful, and tailored to each learner’s needs. I’ve worked extensively with students who have IEPs and 504s, and I take great care to adapt my lessons to different learning styles, strengths, and goals. I focus on building strong routines, meaningful assessments, and a safe, encouraging environment where students feel supported and challenged. Parents and students can expect a high level of professionalism, consistent communication, and thoughtfully structured sessions that prioritize real learning and lasting growth. Whether your child needs enrichment, homework help, or targeted skill-building, I’m here to help them succeed—and enjoy the process along the way. Ask ChatGPT

About the lesson

As a tutor, I combine structure with creativity. My name is Hala, and I’ve been teaching since 2013. I hold a Professional Educator License in the state of Illinois and have over a decade of experience working with diverse learners, including students with IEPs and 504s. I specialize in tutoring students from kindergarten through eighth grade, with a particular focus on reading, writing, and social studies.

My lessons are designed to be engaging, rigorous, and tailored to each learner’s strengths and needs. I typically start with a warm-up or review to activate prior knowledge, followed by a mini-lesson targeting a specific skill or standard. From there, we move into guided practice with frequent checks for understanding—this is where I shine. I’m constantly assessing, adjusting, and supporting. Students often end with an independent task or a self-reflection activity so they can build autonomy and take ownership of their learning.

What sets me apart is my pacing and structure—two things that come up often in my evaluations—and my ability to make even complex concepts accessible and enjoyable. I’m also passionate about choosing high-quality, culturally responsive texts that resonate with students while meeting academic goals. Whether your child needs help decoding multisyllabic words, writing a powerful paragraph, or preparing for middle school essays, I meet them exactly where they are and help them grow with confidence.
