About Juan David
The first free session is not a class. It is a short advisory meeting (15–20 minutes, max. 30) where we can get to know each other, identify your needs, assess your level, and decide whether it makes sense to move forward together with a study plan. My lessons are offered online via Zoom or Google Meet. I am Juan David Calderón Rivera, a graduate in Foreign Languages with an emphasis on English from Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS, Colombia). I hold a C1 certification in English (IELTS) and an intermediate functional level of French (B1), with teaching experience at the beginner level and the ability to communicate fluently with only minor pauses when needed. I have teaching experience in universities, schools, language institutes, and private tutoring. Beyond the type of contract—full-time, part-time, or freelance—my work has always been consistent, real, and committed. Every class has meant dedication, structure, listening, and respect. For me, teaching is not just fulfilling a schedule: it is sustaining a meaningful learning process with both professional and human depth. My training is supported by years of ethical practice and participation in research groups focused on education, languages, and pedagogy. I have been recognized as an outstanding student for academic consistency, and I continue to grow with responsibility. I see education not as a commercial service, but as formative guidance based on mutual respect. Teaching means guiding, proposing, listening, and setting clear boundaries, both personal and pedagogical. I do not believe in unilateral imposition from the teacher, but also not in a relationship where everything depends only on the student. Learning is a shared, structured, and ethically cared-for process. At this moment, I prefer teaching online, where I can offer a quiet, organized, and respectful space for learning. In-person lessons are not part of my current modality. If you are looking to learn with intention, clarity, and respect, I am here to accompany you from a professional and human perspective.

My lessons are offered online via Zoom or Google Meet. My teaching approach is based on respect: respect for your pace, your goals, and your learning process, but also respect for my role as a guide. Teaching and learning is a mutual agreement, a shared space where neither side imposes on the other. I do not believe in teaching as an imposition, nor in an unbalanced relationship where everything depends only on the student. I work through dialogue, clarity, and shared responsibility. I offer English lessons (C1 IELTS certified) and beginner French, for students who are learning by choice. If you want to progress with meaning, without artificial pressure but with real commitment, this space is for you. I listen to your needs—whether conversation, grammar, pronunciation, or comprehension—and then propose a structured path that we can build together. I don’t teach with “universal recipes,” but in relation to the real person in front of me. My lessons are always built with ethics, vocation, and a human touch. From the very beginning, I establish clear personal and pedagogical boundaries on both sides, maintaining an ethical and professional approach at all times. Respect is the starting point, and consensus is the foundation.
