About Denalyn
Hi! I’m Denalyn, a certified secondary English teacher with years of classroom experience helping students excel in reading, writing, literature, and ESL. I specialize in turning challenging texts and writing assignments into manageable, engaging lessons, helping students think critically, express themselves clearly, and gain confidence in their abilities.
My teaching combines structured instruction, interactive discussion, and hands-on practice. I guide students through essay planning and revision, literary analysis, grammar and mechanics, and vocabulary development, while also supporting ESL learners in speaking, writing, and comprehension. Each lesson typically begins with a quick warm-up, such as a reading or writing prompt, followed by reviewing previous work to clarify questions and reinforce skills. I then focus on targeted instruction, which might include essay planning and revising, literary analysis, grammar practice, or ESL conversation and vocabulary building. Students apply new skills through exercises or discussion, and we finish by summarizing key takeaways and setting goals for the next session.
