About Mary
As a public school employee with 34 years of experience in the Texas education system, I was evaluated, background-checked, and continually monitored for excellence. I taught theatre, dance, public speaking, and English in the following Texas school districts: Arlington (22 years), Mansfield (6 years), Fort Worth (4 years) and Lubbock (1 year). After retiring in 2018, I have continued to work as a substitute teacher and test proctor for Arlington ISD. Since 2020, I have been tutoring English and public speaking online, recently totaling 800 hours of experience with a 5-star rating.

When I work with you, I will first assess your needs and then create lessons to fit whatever those needs might be. I excel at grammar and writing, so I can help with all your essay writing needs. I have extensive knowledge of literature ranging from young adult to adult interests and can provide novel studies including all areas of literary study (vocabulary, plot analysis, character analysis, figurative language, style, tone, etc.) My additional experience as both a theatre and public speaking teacher add to my skills, helping me to make the lesson engaging.
