About Jane

Hello! My name is Ms. Jane Elieff and I am a certified elementary school teacher who is eager to help your child with reading and math. In my lessons, I aim to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each day. I am very patient, flexible and kind. I encourage my students to ask questions, take risks and overcome the fear of making mistakes as this is part of the learning process. All levels are welcome (we will start from scratch if need be)!

During our session, we will spend around 25 minutes reading and discussing a given text (student is welcome to bring their own book or I have lots to choose from). We will focus on comprehension of the text and recalling information. For beginner readers we will focus on decoding and phonic skills. Books and writing topics will be chosen according to the student’s interest and suggestions.
