About Chrisanthi

Hi! My name is Chrisanthi, and I am a passionate and dedicated educator who believes every child has the ability to learn, grow, and succeed with the right support!

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Integrated Elementary and Special Education and a Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of Hartford. I am a certified Elementary and Special Education Teacher with professional experience as both a first-grade classroom teacher and a special education teacher and case manager.

Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students of diverse learning abilities, helping them strengthen their academic skills, build confidence, and develop greater independence. My background in both general and special education allows me to tailor instruction to each student's unique learning style, strengths, and areas of need.

I understand that learning can sometimes feel challenging, which is why I strive to create a patient, encouraging, and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks. I believe that building positive relationships and celebrating small successes are just as important as academic growth.

My goal is not only to help students improve academically but also to help them recognize their own potential and become confident, independent learners. I look forward to making learning a positive and rewarding experience for your child!

As a certified Elementary and Special Education Teacher with a Master’s Degree in Special Education, I am passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their academic skills, and develop a love for learning. My experience teaching in both general education and special education classrooms allows me to understand that every child learns differently, and I believe instruction should reflect each student's individual strengths and needs.

My Teaching Approach:

I use a personalized, student-centered approach that incorporates explicit instruction, hands-on activities, visual supports, scaffolding, and engaging learning strategies. I focus on breaking down challenging concepts into manageable steps while encouraging independence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. My goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress.

What a Typical Lesson Looks Like:

Each session begins with a brief review of previously learned skills, followed by targeted instruction based on the student's academic needs. I model new concepts, provide guided practice, and gradually encourage independent application. Lessons include interactive activities, opportunities for reinforcement, and informal assessments to monitor progress and guide future instruction.

With experience as both a first-grade classroom teacher and a special education teacher and case manager, I bring a strong understanding of differentiated instruction, individualized learning plans, and evidence-based teaching strategies. I prioritize building meaningful relationships with students because I believe confidence and trust are essential to academic success.

Who I Teach:

I offer individualized tutoring for elementary students in grades K–6, specializing in reading, writing, phonics, reading comprehension, spelling, and mathematics. I welcome students who need additional academic support, reinforcement of classroom instruction, enrichment, or specialized instruction tailored to their learning needs.
