Hey, y'all! I'm Mrs. Turner! I have 10+ years of classroom experience in helping students of ALL backgrounds, academic levels, and abilities. I have worked with students in urban to rural settings. My passion is to help students achieve what they never believed they could through support, active listening, and data-driven instruction. As a tutor, my goal is to understand your individual needs and learning style. I believe that learning is a symbiotic relationship and in order to make the most of the learning process, it is important that we understand each others' communication and processing.
I would first begin with a pre-assessment or an overview of where you are currently. We would work together to set goals based on requirements and rubrics. This would directly inform the content and curriculum that I would offer to you.
Ultimately, my goal is to help you get to a level of analysis that pushes you beyond simply meeting goals. My biggest hope is that through teaching, you would walk away learning about not only the subject at hand but yourself.
I am certified to teach 5th-9th grade English and Social Studies. However, I have tutored college-age and adult learners in my career. I can tutor students in Writing, Literature, World History, American History, European History, and Theatre.
