About Abigail
I bring 14 years of experience in education to every session and I’ve spent the majority of that time working directly with middle and high school students, which means I understand exactly what this age group needs to succeed academically and beyond.
My educational background is broad by design. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Biology, a Master’s degree in Leadership and Public Administration, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. I am currently a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership, meaning I am not just a practitioner, I am an active scholar who stays current on what research says about how students learn best.
That combination of science, leadership, and education gives me something most tutors don’t have. I can connect rigorous academic content to real-world thinking, and the administrative and instructional expertise to understand what students need at every level.
I have worked inside schools as both an educator and administrator, which means I understand the system, I know where students fall through the cracks, and I know exactly how to reach them. Whether your child needs to catch up, stay on level, or be pushed further than their current environment allows, I show up prepared, professional, and fully invested.

My Lesson Approach
No two learners are the same and I don’t teach like they are. Before every lesson, I take time to understand how your child learns best:
• Visual learners who need to see it
• Auditory learners who need to talk it through
• Kinesthetic learners who need to move and do
• Reading/writing learners who process best on paper
That foundation shapes everything.
Every session begins with a quick pre-assessment, not a test, but a conversation and activity designed to show me exactly where your child is and where the gaps are. From there, I deliver targeted, modality-matched instruction tailored specifically to them. Then we reassess because I don’t move forward until I know the concept has landed.
But mastery isn’t just remembering; it’s being able to use what you’ve learned. That’s why every lesson closes with higher-order thinking questions and assignments that push students beyond recall into:
