About Samantha
I’m Samantha, a licensed English teacher with a Master’s degree in Teacher Education from the University of Tennessee. Over the past seven years, I’ve taught middle and high school students at a variety of levels—ranging from advanced English and creative writing to remedial reading and language support. My experience includes working with RTI programs, English language learners, and general education classes, which has taught me how to adapt lessons for each student’s unique needs. In addition to classroom teaching, I’ve led electives like Journalism, Speech, and Creative Writing, and I bring creativity and flexibility into every lesson. I’m also trained in restorative practices, Google Certified, and experienced in running digital and paperless classrooms. What truly defines my work is helping students build confidence. Whether a student is catching up, staying on track, or striving ahead, my goal is to make English skills feel manageable, meaningful, and connected to real success in school.

My Approach
I believe that every student can become a confident reader and writer with the right support. In our sessions, I’ll guide you step-by-step and help you build the skills to work independently over time. We’ll connect new skills to what you already know so that you will have a stronger understanding of English content and build your confidence so that your English coursework feels more achievable.
What a Lesson Looks Like
Each lesson starts with a quick review of what you’ve been working on and a clear goal for the day. From there, we’ll practice reading or writing skills together, and then you’ll get a chance to apply the skills on your own with support. At the end, we’ll reflect on what you learned and talk about strategies you can use in school right away.
