About Mel
I’m a Newcastle-based artist and educator with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Ceramics) from NAS, where I received the Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. I also completed a Diploma of Visual Arts at Newcastle Art School. I hold a Bachelor of Clinical Sciences and Master of Osteopathy, graduating with a Distinction average. My studies included extensive anatomy, neuroanatomy and human structure and function, and I have previous experience tutoring neuroanatomy.

I offer individual ceramics lessons tailored to your experience and interests, from getting started with clay through to developing your own ideas and techniques.
As a ceramicist and National Art School graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Ceramics), I can help with handbuilding, wheel throwing, developing forms, surface and glaze experimentation, and working through ideas from concept to finished piece.
Lessons can be adapted for beginners or developing ceramicists who want to build confidence, troubleshoot techniques or explore their own creative practice.
