About Sophia
Hello! I'm Sophia, a CELTA-qualified English teacher with a BA (Hons) in Modern Language Studies from the University of Nottingham. Having grown up internationally and studied several languages myself, I understand first-hand the challenges and rewards of learning a new language.
My academic background, international experiences and experience tutoring languages have given me a strong appreciation for different learning styles and cultural perspectives. I am passionate about helping students develop their English skills, build confidence and feel comfortable communicating in real-life situations.
I believe learning a language should be both rewarding and enjoyable, and I strive to create supportive, engaging lessons where every student feels encouraged to reach their individual goals. Whether you are learning English from scratch or looking to refine your fluency, I would love to help you along your language-learning journey!

My teaching approach is communicative, engaging and tailored to each student's individual goals, learning style and level. I focus on developing practical English skills through conversation, interactive activities, grammar explanations and real-life examples, while creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and building confidence.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are adapted to the student's needs, whether they want to improve speaking fluency, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, general English or exam preparation.
I hold a CELTA qualification and a BA (Hons) in Modern Language Studies, with experience tutoring languages and mathematics online. Having studied and learnt multiple languages myself, I understand the challenges of language learning and aim to make lessons accessible, structured and enjoyable.
I welcome learners of different ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced students, including adults looking to improve their conversational English, professional communication or overall language proficiency.
