About Alfred
Hi, I’m Alfred. I teach CBSE math for students up to 10th grade with a focus on concept clarity, logical thinking and confidence building.
While I am starting out with math tutoring professionally, I have been teaching chess for the past 2 years and have worked with 30+ students. Through chess coaching, I’ve developed strong communication skills, patience and the ability to explain complex ideas in a simple and structured way, especially for younger students.
I scored 90+ in both 9th and 10th grade math, and I understand the common areas where students usually struggle. My goal is not just to help students memorize formulas, but to help them actually understand the logic behind the concepts.
My classes are best suited for students who:
• struggle with confidence in math
• get distracted easily
• need personal attention and step-by-step guidance
• want stronger basics and better understanding
I believe students learn best in a calm environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes without fear of judgment. Along with academics, I also try to encourage discipline, consistency and better problem-solving habits.
My teaching style is patient, supportive and adapted to the pace of each student so they can improve steadily with confidence.

My approach to teaching maths is simple: understand first, memorize later.
A lot of students struggle with maths not because they are weak, but because they never properly understood the basics. I focus heavily on concept clarity, logical thinking and step-by-step problem solving so students become more confident with the subject over time.
I teach CBSE maths for students up to 10th grade and I am also comfortable teaching younger children who need patient and structured guidance.
A typical class usually includes:
• understanding the concept in a simple way
• solving examples together
• identifying where the student gets stuck
• practice questions with guidance
• revision and doubt clearing
I adapt my teaching style based on the student. Some students need discipline and structure, while others need confidence and encouragement first. My goal is to make students feel comfortable asking questions without fear of judgment.
I scored 90+ in both 9th and 10th grade CBSE maths, so I understand the common mistakes students make and how to avoid them during exams.
Along with improving marks, I also try to help students become calmer, more focused and more confident while solving problems.

Alfred is a very nice teacher. he teaches chess. He is not at all strict and explains in clear detail. When you have a question he will explain it in a clear concept . He won't scold you if you don't finish your homework he will tell you to finish it and encourage you to do it.
Alfred has been teaching my son Shonit for the past 4 months. Shonit has already been learning chess for 4 years, so we were looking for advanced coaching to refine his skills—and Alfred has been a great fit.
We’ve seen a clear improvement in Shonit’s thinking, planning, and overall gameplay. Alfred focuses on deeper concepts and helps him understand the logic behind each move, which has made a noticeable difference.
He is patient, explains things clearly, and keeps the sessions engaging even at an advanced level. Shonit looks forward to his classes and is more confident and focused during games.
Overall, we are very happy with the progress and would highly recommend Alfred to anyone looking for quality chess coaching.View more recommendations
