About Diego
I'm a NYC-based guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and music educator with over 15 years of professional performing and teaching experience. My performance credits include Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Birdland, The Iridium, and 54 Below, along with pit work for professional and regional theater productions across New York, Maryland, and Washington DC.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Jazz & Commercial Performance from Towson University and currently teach private lessons and coach ensembles at The Dwight School, one of New York City's top private schools.
My teaching mirrors the way I learned myself — through listening, playing real music, and developing genuine musical instincts. I'm bilingual in English and Spanish and have worked with students from age 8 through their 60s across every experience level.

I teach electric and acoustic guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin, and Irish/tenor banjo to students of all ages and experience levels. Lessons are tailored entirely to your goals — whether that's learning your favorite songs, developing improvisation skills, preparing for an audition, or becoming a more confident ensemble player.
My lessons emphasize fretboard fluency, harmony, rhythm, ear training, and stylistic vocabulary across jazz, rock, pop, blues, folk, and Celtic music. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all method — the student always drives the direction, and I'm there to guide the process and open doors they didn't know were there.
