About Carina
I am a final year student of MA (Hons) Russian and International Relations at the University of St. Andrews.
You are most likely wondering why I am opting to tutor English when that isn't my degree! Well, here's why:
- In my last year of high school I gained some of the highest results of my year group for my Scottish Advanced Higher Qualification. This involved finding effective methods to study literature, particularly that of William Shakespeare and Arthur Conan Doyle, as well as the study of linguistic concepts and stylistics.
- In this same year I was the Representative to the English Faculty and I took great pride in this position. It allowed me to tutor students in a way that worked for them rather in the generic study methods that the Faculty was suggesting.

Through tutoring students in the subject of English during high school, I met much success as I used study tools that worked best for these individuals rather than applying a more general approach. Tools I used included spaced-repetition of concepts, testing (vocally, orally and in written form) as well as aiding them to create more efficient notes and flashcards.
In addition to this I can aid with essay writing, dissertation composure and proof-reading.
For the subject of English I hold the grades of:
