About David
I received my Bachelors in Microbiology with minors in Bioinformatics and Plant Science in 2020 at the University of Florida. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I worked part time at the USDA-ARS studying plant biochemical defense mechanisms. Immediately after undergrad, I began a Ph.D. in Genetics and Genomics at the University of Florida Genetics Institute. My current work is in the mechanisms of repeat instability found in common diseases like Huntington's, ALS, and myotonic dystrophies. I have tutored over 20 undergraduates over the last 4 years aiding them in the classes that they take and their skills in the laboratory.

I have experience in all levels of biology in the academic sphere and have worked through the "Scientists in Every Florida School" program to provide introduction to advanced level biology concepts to high school students for several years after I started my graduate research. Lesson plans can range from re-enforcement of material being covered concurrently in classes or I can provide supplemental material to allow for further advancement or a new perspective on a concept.

Perfect! I cannot recommend David enough! I was completely lost in Bio 1 just weeks before my exam and was honestly freaking out. He not only helped me understand the material but made me a practice test and a study schedule without me even asking. He even took time out of his own lunch breaks to meet with me. Thanks to his help, I ended up getting an A on my exam! If you're struggling with bio, he's 100% the person to go to. Truly the best tutor ever!
