I'm a Canadian university student studying health sciences with past experience teaching English to children, youth and adults. I have achieved an AP score of 5 on the AP English Literature & Composition exam as well as a PCAT percentile rank of 99, with a percentile rank of 99 on the Reading Comprehension section. I also have worked as a yearbook editor, and have extensive experience editing and proofreading various types of writing, including research papers, magazine articles, essays etc. My English tutoring lessons for anyone who is needs help with analyzing English literature, proofreading English assignments, or preparing for English tests and standardized exams that have an English component. I welcome students of all ages and levels, and will customize my lesson plans based on each student's age, level of English and personal goals. My first free lesson will be focused on assessing the student's needs and identifying their academic goals. As a former Kumon teacher, my teaching style is based on Kumon's teaching method, where I will give a chance for students to find and correct their own errors before stepping in to help. Rather than a rigid and traditional teaching style, I find that guidance and encouragement help students learn more quickly and become more confident in their own abilities. I welcome students from all backgrounds, offer flexible scheduling and lessons are given via Skype, FaceTime, WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger. Other video-calling apps or websites may be considered.
