About Laverne
Supporting students through technical hurdles defines my approach. Honestly, I find that balancing music theory with practical maintenance is the hardest part of early growth. Having earned an Artist Diploma in Music Performance from the Eastman School of Music, I apply that rigor to help you grasp chord transitions and strumming patterns.
Building skills in blues progressions and songwriting requires patience and a clear perspective. Teaching over 3 years has shown me that reading tabs effectively is a skill anyone can build. It remains truly enjoyable to watch students find their unique voice while working through these fundamental elements.

Students often find clarity by the end of their very first session. Playing guitar should feel like a natural conversation rather than a rigid set of rules, which is why I combine my 3 years of experience with my Eastman School of Music training.
We will work on tuning, maintenance, and technical dexterity through 10 distinct developmental stages. My methodology focuses on getting you performance ready within a single term. I keep the process grounded and results driven by providing a monthly recorded review of progress for every single student. I look forward to hearing your specific musical goals and helping you reach them through this structured process.
