About Rebecca

Hi!

My name is Rebecca and I am currently studying at the University of Cambridge. I'm experienced in tutoring Maths and Economics and am also more than happy to help with University admissions (especially Oxbridge and the TSA).

I have been tutoring for over 3 years, my experience is primarily online however I have also had a number of in person students. Since October 2018 I have worked as a “one to one” online tutor for international students from China who intend to study in the UK or already attend UK boarding schools. I primarily teach mathematics and have taught over 20 students, with abilities ranging from primary to A level standard. I have also taught AS level economics. I also provides advice on University applications and specifically the Oxbridge admissions process. I also worked for Oxford Talent, a Vietnamese based tuition company who provide group lessons to primary school aged students. I taught classes of up to 6 students in both mathematics and english. I have also had several other tutoring clients who she has taught both in person, these include; a mature student undertaking GCSE mathematics, an A level mathematics student and several GCSE students

About the lesson

I really enjoy teaching and ensure that my first lesson always focuses around understanding the students current ability and what their objectives are. All my lessons are planned in advance and I will send you all the necessary resources (notes, question packs etc.) before the lesson begins, as well as follow up work after the lesson. I can help with anything to exam prep to simply building more confidence in your subject. I'm also happy to teach from primary school up to A-level.

I use interactive online whiteboards that both the student and I can write on for lessons (to help with drawing graphs and equations etc.) I also use screensharing throughout the lesson to show students articles, textbook pages, practice questions etc. I also create notes during the lesson which the student can see on my screen and then share them with them after.

I also think regular feedback is super important and can give my students regular informal tests so we can both see their progress and help identify areas to work on (but I also understand not everyone prefers testing so we can decide what works best for you!).
