About Melanie
I have always been a keen student and teachers having tutored children since I was 15 and having developed my own understanding of what kind of tutoring is genuinely effective for students through my own experiences of students. I’m a firm believer in building on the foundations of knowledge that students already have and providing a nurturing environment where students are able to build their confidence. Building my own confidence helped me succeed academically, so I aim to encourage this notion in my students learning. I advocate an affirmative learning process where I teach my students as equals and review their successes and failures with context of various factors to help find what each student needs to grow as an academic individual.

Providing an environment of innovation and support that produces independence, I help students develop the skills they need to excel in exams providing knowledge and skill focussed sessions that help students reach their potential. I allow students to tell me what support they need most a tailor each session based on this. This means my session style can vary significantly for each student. At the core I provide resources that students can use for revision, based on their syllabus, work with them to explore what revision tools help them for each subject and then consolidate both the knowledge and skill that my students have developed to build confidence and security in the top grades.
