About Matilda
I am a current student of English Literature at Clare College, University of Cambridge, specialising in early 18th century epistolary novels. At sixth form I attained 43/45 in the International Baccalaureate, placing me in the top 5% of candidates, and achieving the top grade of 7 in English, Philosophy, French, Spanish, and Computer Science. My lifelong passion for literature and learning has led me to a variety of academic successes and I would now like to turn this experience towards helping students to give them the support and knowledge I wish I'd had.

My tutoring is highly personalised to each student to highlight the best qualities in your writing and thinking,. Everyone has the capacity to write great English analysis, it's just a matter of expressing your thoughts in mark scheme friendly language and making this skill consistent.
Through practical criticism exercises we will practice essay planning till it becomes second nature. In my lessons we will develop a systematic approach to elevating your essay writing to consistently achieve top band grades. I provide a variety of unique resources including selected phrases from top literary scholars to help separate you from other candidates. The structure of lessons is inspired by the supervision model used at Cambridge University which allows us to explore your individual interests as we improve your work. Lessons are typically 1.5 hours.
I've worked with children and teens across all age groups and offer tutoring all the way from 11+ up to sixth form level.
