About Eva

I have always had a keen interest in the arts and humanities – particularly philosophy, history, and the languages and literatures – and an interest in transmitting my own knowledge and enthusiasm to others.

I am currently continuing as a postgraduate student after having completed my undergraduate degree in Philosophy – with a requisite accompanying knowledge in History, Classical Greek, and Classical and Eccleasiastical Latin – with a 'Double' Starred First/First with Distinction at the University of Cambridge. Philosophy, along with its cousins History, Divinity, the Classics, and the Modern Literatures, Linguistics and Languages, all involve a detailed, meticulous approach and an extensive amount of time spent reading and writing, and occasionally also listening and speaking. If your difficulties lie in making sense of lengthy, dense reading materials; approaching the structuring and writing of essays, papers, or extended pieces of coursework such as EPQs, IAs, EEs and similar, I can definitely help. If you simply need practice reading, writing, listening or speaking, or have any Oxbridge queries, I can help with those too.

I am a native speaker of French and English, with additional native-level proficiency in German – I am able to provide aid with all three of these, as well as take into account the different national and international educational systems they are examined in, having had personal experience within the French, English, Swiss German and International Baccalaureate systems. I also have fluency in Spanish and Italian – and after having pursued them at school and gone on to acquire advanced external qualifications, the DELE and the CILS, I like to think I can help with these, too.

I have extensive experience both as a private tutor – across numerous online platforms like MyTutor and Edulide, along with three separate schemes for socioeconomically disadvantaged children and adolescents, one specifically attuned to those with dyslexia, dyspraxia, and varied language processing and production difficulties – and as a proofreader, editor, translator and interpreter – across numerous online platforms like ProZ, along with organisations such as Traducteurs Sans Frontières or Translators without Borders.

About the lesson

I am aware of students' different personal and educational backgrounds and learning profiles, and ultimately aim to tailor my lessons around any new student I take on.
