About Sumei
I am a 3rd year student at Trinity College, Cambridge, where I read Modern and Medieval Languages (French and Spanish). French papers I have taken include 20th century literature, film, theatre and thought, French through audiovisual media, translation into and from French, and introductory papers to medieval, early modern, enlightenment, and realism in French literature. In 2019 I completed my A levels in French, Spanish, and Latin, and passed all three with A*s. I gained 9 A*s (in French, Spanish, Latin, Greek, Maths, Music, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics) and 3 As (in English Language, English Literature, and Further Maths) at GCSE. I started running French oral clinics for GCSE students in 2017, and started tutoring in 2018, with all my students improving by at least one grade. I spent my gap year working as a teaching assistant for French and Latin in a prep school. I spent three months of my year abroad working as an intern in Paris.

Our lessons will be based around your specific needs, and will always be fun! If you are a beginner, we will focus mostly on oral comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar. If you are working towards a particular qualification (11+, 13+, Common Entrance, GCSE, AS/A Level etc.), classes will be tailored towards the specifications for these. If needed, I can also set extra work to do outside of classes, and will be available for marking in between lesson times. I also offer personal statement help and guidance, as well as Oxbridge interview practice. Please feel free to message me with your particular needs. I offer online tutoring in the evenings and at the weekend. I am able to tutor via Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, and WhatsApp.

Details
I charge £30/h, or £20/half hour. If you would like a custom time, I am willing to discuss prices. I offer a free 30 minute discussion and lesson - this is so that we can get to know each other and establish exactly what it is you want help with. If you choose to book a set of lessons in advance, 5h will cost £140, and 10h will cost £270.
