About Jonty

Last year my GCSE Geography student was predicted a C but ended up getting an A. Other students have seen A* and A grades across the board despite being predicted much lower.

In terms of Personal Statements, I have never had a student rejected from a University. My last student received 5 offers from 5 Russel Group Unis.

About the lesson

I offer tutoring for every GCSE subject, all humanity A Levels (English, History, Geography, French), and help with personal statements and mock Oxbridge interviews in any subject.

Having just completed Uni, I feel I am very down to earth and understanding of the student's issues. I am a friendly and outgoing individual who knows all too well the stress that exams can cause.

In terms of my teaching characteristics, I concentrate heavily on the specific mark schemes of the exam(s) the student is taking. This is a way to ensure high grades, without needing an extremely deep knowledge of the course. The same thing can be seen in personal statements, where there are certain things Universities look for, and other things they would prefer not to hear...

I managed 12A* at GCSE and 2A* 2A at A level. These were the best marks in my year, despite the fact I was nowhere near the smartest kid in the year... It all comes down to following mark schemes and certain exam/essay structures, all of which I try to convey in my classes :)

Perfect! Jonty was an excellent tutor. He helped me with my personal statement, which got me into 5 Russell group universities when I was applying. Jonty has also helped me whilst I have been at univeirsty, proof reading my essays, which has resulted in a high 2:1 at the end of my first year.

Perfect! Mr Jonty was very professional in his work with me. We did some tutoring for essay writing and he provided me concrete feedbacks on essay structure. The essay I'm writing is to prepare me for the Cambridge admission test and his advice on the Cambridge style of writing is invaluable. Also, he helped me greatly in my interview preparation by conducting a mock interview for me. He gave me some useful tips in the interview. Overall, I have much more confidence in my Cambridge Application than before. Thanks Jonty, you have been of great help.
