About Rupert
I have been deeply interested in biology since childhood, took the subject at GCSE and A-level, won the British Biological Olympiad in 2000 and brought home a silver medal in that year's International Biological Olympiad, read Natural Sciences (Biological) at Cambridge, and worked for almost 20 years in conservation and outreaching in South America, including serving as Science Advisor to the chairman of the country's Congressional Science Commission.
Whether you're a struggling student, an aspiring Oxbridge applicant, or a Latin American politician, I can help you develop a true understanding of biology and a passion for the subject.

Biology is the science of complexity, and its concepts can be confusing. It also comes with a huge vocabulary of specialist terms that can look scary and offputting.
When a student is having trouble with genetics, it's normally because they see words like allele, phenotype, and heterozygous, and feel as though the teacher is speaking a different language.
Every student is different, and I work first to understand where their difficulties lie, in order to design a fully personalised teaching plan. There is nothing in your biology syllabus that I don't understand and find genuinely interesting - so I can always find teaching methods that are appropriate for each student, and offer infectious enthusiasm.
