About Isaac
Long story short, I love Philosophy!
My love of the subject got me to Cambridge and I was awarded a 1st class degree in 2021. As a student, I did some Philosophy/English Lit/Admissions tutoring, and I found it really rewarding to help people learn.
So rewarding that I decided I want to teach full time: I'm currently working on a PhD application to continue studying in the US, after which I'll hopefully get a teaching position at a university somewhere.
In the meantime, I'm looking to start tutoring again and to get as much experience teaching as possible: primarily in A-Level Philosophy, English Lit, and University/Oxbridge Admissions.

It goes without saying that how we tutor is up to you and will depend on your goals!
If you're looking to be tutored at A-Level, what I can uniquely offer is a recreation of the Cambridge supervision system, in which we'll primarily focus on discussing and debating your work to improve your understanding.
This is a great way to learn because it's not boring! It also means that when I do explain a new concept, fact, or argument to you, this will be as a response to your own ideas – so you'll start to see how it all fits together. This makes it much easier to remember when its time for exams!
In my own exams, I got a A*AA in English, History, and Philosophy & Ethics, and because I just graduated, that wasn't a very long time ago – so my knowledge and advice is up to date.
If you're looking for help with Oxbridge/University admissions, I'll create a plan with you so that you can get lots of practice discussing your subject at the level required. I can also go over written practice work and discuss how you can ace the entrance exams. I've worked with Oxbridge applicants before to develop a tailored practice-plan and they've done really well at interview.
If that sounds like too much, why not book a single practice interview with me? I'll prepare questions based on your personal statement in advance so you'll get practice discussing your ideas at a high level. Even one session like this will mean you won't be caught off guard by the tone/style of the interview.
If you're interested, why don't you reach out to me? We can have a quick 15 minute call to talk about your goals and challenges and I can suggest some ways I might be able to help. I look forward to meeting you!

Isaac is a great tutor who works with students so that his lessons are always tailored to their individual needs. I found his lessons really enjoyable too! He explains things really clearly so it’s not stressful and I found that because he starts with your written work, he can get right to the bits you don’t understand first. I’d recommend to anyone wanting a higher grade in A Level or applying to Oxbridge.
Isaac recently achieved one of the best First Class honours degrees in his year at Cambridge University and has a passion for philosophy. he is friendly and approachable and enjoys seeing students make breakthroughs in their understanding. He encourages students to think for themselves and explore the wider implications of topics as well as offering practical and focussed subject teaching.
