About Amber

I am a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in Genetics and a GPA of 3.84. I have been tutoring for 3 years. I have a background in classes specifically genetics, biology, microbiology, and chemistry. I have experience with scientific writing and am able to help with scientific literature reviews.

About the lesson

My teaching method is to have my students provide me with the topics they want to cover the day prior. Then in the lesson I help my students review information, develop deeper understanding of the content, and receive assistance with assignments. I will explain background information so you can understand well enough to do your own assignments. If you want help with an assignment, please bring the rubric and I can provide feedback or help you brainstorm ideas of how to start and where to look for more information.

She helps her students understand biological systems that lead to the answers. However, the best thing is that she patiently asks relevant, thought provoking questions that take her students through the problem solving process step by step. In this way my boys have learned how to use reasoning to find solutions. This is a skill that will help them throughout their life.
