About Ryan
A life's passion in the reading and study of history drives my love of sharing that passion with others. I have some prior experience as an in-person tutor, and am known locally as a go-to person for answering obscure questions or explaining concepts (particularly historical concepts) in a more ground-floor, accessible, and relatable way. Online tutoring was suggested to me by my stepdaughter, after an evening of helping her study Western Civ, and I'm looking forward to it!

I try to connect with the student in a way that gives me some insight into how to make the topic relevant and meaningful to that student. My sessions are very freeform, and based around questions the student may have or concepts and ideas the student may be having difficulty with. I consider myself proficient in my subject matter up to at least a bachelor's degree level. Think of me more as a friend that knows about the subject, rather than a teacher handling a pupil.
