About Emily
I graduated from a Bachelor of Business with Distinction from QUT in 2019. I majored in Advertising and Marketing, but chose to enrol myself in electives from a broad range of disciplines including HR,PR, Management, Accounting and Economics. In my ft year, I thought I did very well in my subjects, but was disheartened to find I had achieved a GPA of only 5.25 on a 7 point scale. This trial and error of my first year saw me foster a greater understanding of the tertiary marking systems, and in the last three years of my degree I consistently made the Dean's List each semester and went on to achieve a Distinction in my degree, despite applying considerably less time and effort to each of my assessments than I did in the first year. My philosophy is that academic writing is a learnt skilled that can be taught, and generally has a greater influence on achieved grades than actually understanding the course content. This is an unfortunate truth I would like to see change in the future, however, as this is how it is in the present, let me help you use this to your academic advantage.
