About Kelsie
Originally from Boston, now located in Québec. I received my degree in English from a communications university, and work as a Human Resources professional. I also have experience tutoring ESL. I generally conduct my lessons virtually, but am happy to schedule lessons in person if you're near to Québec!

I believe that one of the best ways to improve your fluency in a language is through conversation practice, but as a language student myself I understand how difficult and intimidating it can be to try to hold a conversation in a language that's not your first language!
My lessons provide a safe space for you to practice and make mistakes, and to ultimately help you have more fluid conversations. I will be there to help guide the discussion, to correct you as needed while still maintaining the flow of the conversation, and to help you if you get stuck - but ultimately my goal is to ensure we use as much of the time as possible for you to practice speaking.
In addition to conversation, I like to incorporate video, text, grammar, and other materials to our lessons to help you progress in multiple areas.
During our first lesson, we’ll work together to assess your current level and discuss your learning goals and preferences. From there, I'll develop a learning plan for our future lessons. I will adjust my style to meet your needs by incorporating level-appropriate topics and vocabulary, by speaking more slowly so that it’s easier for you to understand me, or speaking more rapidly if you want to practice conversation at a more natural pace.
