About Nyana
I attend University, I have A-Levels in Geography, Philosophy & Ethics, and English Literature. I also have a 7 & 8 in my GCSE English Language and Literature. Whilst in Sixth form, I mentored a student in English to help him pass his GCSE's. He passed with a 6 which allowed him to get into the College he wanted. As a part of my social contract, I also mentored a Year 7 class during their English lessons.

There are two parts of achieving a better grade. The course content initially needs to be understood; once this is done, teaching the student how to apply this to essays and/or coursework not only helps them have a holistic approach to the subject, but improves their confidence in the subject. This leaves the student with an optimistic outlook, and instead of being disappointed by mistakes, they understand the methods by which those mistakes can easily be rectified. My teaching methods are to plan lessons personal to the students needs, which allows them to strive for a grade which they want to achieve (time-bound). For example, if a student is a C grade and they need a B to get into an institution, the lesson content will include B grade work, and I will help the student understand the difference between the level they are working at, and what their aims are. Helping a student understand their strengths and weaknesses within a subject allows them to self reflect, and when doing independent study, they begin to notice what they should and shouldn't be doing.
