About Darin
I am a friendly, patient and easy going tutor who truly loves teaching others. Teaching is and always has been a passion of mine and I believe I am uniquely gifted with the patience and creativity required to help students truly master the concepts they need to succeed in their coursework. I also believe strongly that teaching requires some level of connection which is represented by the following quote: "Students don't care what you know until they know how much you care." I genuinely care about and take pride in my students success.

My approach as a tutor is centered around ensuring that my students truly understand the methods and concepts around each subject area so they can apply the problem solving techniques they have learned to each individual problem. I do not believe in "teaching the test" and do believe high test scores will come as a result of mastery of concepts and methods.
I am extremely easy to work with and pride myself on my patience with all of my students. I understand and appreciate that every student needs unique attention and do not employ a "one-size-fits-all" with students. To put it simply, I meet students where they are and help them find success whatever that might mean.
My lessons are primarily for students needing assistance in math or math-based science classes. I am happy to help students of all ages and skill levels. As many educators would say, I prefer teaching students that are eager to learn, but I acknowledge that learning is not always top of mind for young people, so I'm happy to work with all students. I believe my personality and methods are engaging enough to engage even those that are not passionate about learning.
