About Liam

At LSE I have held numerous roles: a Student Academic Mentor, a Peer Supporter, and an Off Campus Support Mentor. Each of these roles has given me valuable insight into how to tackle some of the most crucial issues students face in their studies. I have offered advice and guidance to over 10 students and all have positively progressed. Beforehand, I was also a Student Mentee at my high school and took part in our debating society at college. Whilst at college, I studied Politics, History, Geography and Philosophy - giving me key insight into the areas I am offering to tutor. I am/was a high achieving student - receiving mainly A/A*'s in my GCSE's, A-Levels and on course for a very high 2.1 in my bachelor degree. I am looking to teach in the future myself, so I am looking to do a sincere and meaningful job in my tutoring as well as teaching is my passion.

About the lesson

I love to offer more interactive forms of teaching, but giving you more of the power to guide the conversation. So rather than always a fixed schedule in all of the sessions I offer, whilst having some structure, I frequently like to ask what would you like to do or target because I am here to serve you! I have found in the past that my presentations I frequently make are sometimes the most handy tools to use because it gives you the ability to concentrate on something else rather than just my voice. We will also do frequent activities such as if we are doing a politics session, we can have a thorough debate in a Parliamentary style of debating to really push ourselves to make our arguments articulate and enjoyable, rather than just doing boring work like writing stuff down all the time. But again, the context of our lessons can be guided by you quite extensively or if you would prefer, I can give much more structure to our sessions. This is because I think it's so much more beneficial for us to have a cooperative working relationship rather than just a lecturing style.

Details

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, it would be best to have online tutoring. However, if the time comes for us to be able to meet, the tariff rate may need to be increased to £15-20 depending on the range away you are. Nevertheless, I am more than happy to consistently perform online tutoring.
