About Kai

Hi, I'm Kai! I'm a BSc Data Science student based in South Africa with a genuine passion for mathematics, statistics, and programming. I've been tutoring math privately for a while now and there's nothing more satisfying than watching a concept finally click for someone who's been struggling with it.

I know firsthand how intimidating numbers and code can feel — but I also know that with the right explanation, almost anyone can get there. That's what drives my teaching.

Outside of studying and tutoring, I'm into fitness and keeping active, which honestly keeps me disciplined and focused in everything else I do.

I teach in English and work with high school and early university students in math, stats, and introductory programming. Whether you're trying to pass, improve, or actually understand the work — I'd love to help.

About the lesson

I'm Kai, a BSc Data Science student with a passion for making the "difficult" subjects actually make sense. Math, statistics, and programming have a reputation for being intimidating — but in my experience, that usually comes down to how they're taught, not how hard they actually are.

My approach is simple: I meet you where you are. No judgment, no rushing, no making you feel silly for asking questions. I break concepts down into plain language first, then build up to the technical side once the foundation is solid. Lessons are relaxed but focused — I want you to leave each session feeling clearer, not more confused.

I teach in English.

What to expect from a typical lesson:
We start by identifying exactly where you're stuck. From there I work through the concept with you step by step, using real examples wherever possible. I encourage questions at every stage and adjust my pace to suit you.

I offer tutoring in:
• Mathematics (school level through to first and second year university)
• Statistics and data analysis
• Programming basics (Python and general coding foundations)

My lessons are best suited for high school students tackling math and science subjects, as well as first and second year university students dealing with stats, data, or introductory programming. Whether you're falling behind, preparing for exams, or just want a stronger foundation — I'm here to help.
