Hey guys,

I'm Amir.

I have been in your shoes and I know what it feels like. I have had to endure being the worst in the class at times during my A levels and have had teachers pull me in front of the class and humiliate me for it. Once my Chemistry teacher stopped the whole class to point out every student who he thought was better than me and then told me I would fail in front of everyone.

I wrote down the names of all those kids. I took the textbook and I learnt the whole thing by myself. After 1 month I beat evey single one of those students.

Again in Spanish A levels, I got a D grade in my mock exams, so I went with the textbook and wrote essays and essays in Spanish until I was consistently getting A grades.

I realised through my self study that some teachers weren't helpful. Their goals was to speed you through the content and hit their own teaching targets and so long as majority of the class did reasonable then they would be paid and move on to the next group. I was able to deconstruct the exams and figure out exactly what was being asked of me, creating a protocol for how to get full marks and I wanted nothing less than perfect.

This deconstruction really helps because of the standardisation of the exams. In simple terms, their is a method to getting 100% because they have a method to their marking criteria's. Getting good grades is a combination of knowing how they mark the exams and having good understanding of the content.

I think a lot of school doesn't really teach very well and people don't believe in themselves that they can be the best relatively easily. I think tutoring is actually the best option for alot of students and if you get the right tutor you can really surpass your classmates and get whatever you want. I can be that tutor.

About the lesson

Hello,

I am a graduate of class 2020 from the Russell group University of Manchester (#6 ranked university in UK) and a prospective Msc student for the University of Barcelona in Nanotechnology.

I have tutored across multiple platforms from independent tutoring to Mytutor to First tutors. I have worked in the industry as well as a clinical lab scientist and internships in US in Noble Research Institute for microbiology and have even built my own brain-computer interface software applications for UK-based technology incubator Accelerate ME and DigiLabs.

Throughout my studies I have been able to succeed due to my methodology in learning which I apply with my students and have helped get them from D grades to A grades in the past. I will diagnose the syllabus with you, go through your reading materials and identify the correct path to get the results you want and it will be relaxing.

The best way to get the results you want is to work backwards. We start with understanding HOW the exam board wants us to answer their questions which will enable us to determine how we should be absorbing the information they teach. You will not need to waste hours re-reading or memorising pages of colourfulnotes. Instead we will figure out the concepts to where you just understand what they are in simplistic ways, reducing the difficult concepts down to very simple diagrams and visual ideas which will make learning easy and then memorisation is only needed for the necessary parts e.g. remembering names of molecules etc.

Together we will work at your pace, no need to rush. Its about understanding. Once we understand the ideas, then you will not forget them and you can flick through the whole textbook and know everything off by heart.
