About Sophie
I’ve always loved subjects like biology and chemistry because they explain how the world around us works, and sharing that excitement with students is one of my favorite things about tutoring.
One of my long-term goals is to become a teacher, so tutoring is something I care deeply about. I love helping students develop curiosity, problem-solving skills, and confidence in subjects that can sometimes feel intimidating.
Outside of school and tutoring, I enjoy board games, going to concerts, and learning new things, which reflects my overall curiosity and enthusiasm for knowledge. I try to bring that same positive and engaging energy into my tutoring sessions so learning feels approachable and enjoyable.

My goal as a tutor is to help students truly understand concepts rather than simply memorize them. I focus on building strong foundations and confidence so that students can solve problems independently. I explain concepts step-by-step, adapt my explanations to the student’s learning style, and encourage questions to ensure full understanding.
As a Biology undergraduate with an A average (8.89 GPA) and previous tutoring experience in science and French, I understand both the material and the challenges students face when learning it. I focus on making complex topics easier to understand and helping students gain confidence in their abilities. I am patient, structured, and adapt lessons to each student’s needs and pace.
My lessons are ideal for students who need help improving their grades, preparing for exams, understanding difficult concepts, or building stronger study habits.
