I'm a second year BSc Biology student who will give tutoring lessons to GCSE students predominantly, however I am also happy to work with A Level students. I can advise on revision techniques and help with personal statements. I will tailor my techniques and method of instruction to each student individually depending on the topic being covered, however generally I would write out the basic notes or 'skeleton notes' then explain them verbally to the student in more detail. I would also help the student understand the specification, past exam questions and mark scheme and work with them to consolidate information. I am very friendly and fairly informal. I believe in boosting students, encouraging them, giving them confidence and finding their strengths. I am able to tailor this to help students with dyslexia and dyscalculia if necessary and find alternative ways of looking at things.
