About Oliver
I’m currently a student at Brown University studying applied mathematics and economics, with a strong focus on quantitative reasoning, statistics, and financial markets. Through my coursework and independent study, I’ve developed a deep understanding of subjects like calculus, probability, econometrics, and data analysis.
I’ve always enjoyed helping other students work through difficult concepts and find clear, logical ways to approach challenging problems. Many quantitative subjects can seem overwhelming at first, but with the right explanation and structured practice they become much more manageable and even enjoyable.
Beyond academics, I’m also very interested in financial markets, trading, and analytical problem solving, which has helped strengthen my understanding of statistics, probability, and applied mathematics in real-world contexts.
As a tutor, I aim to be patient, encouraging, and clear in my explanations while helping students build both confidence and real understanding of the material.

I’m a student at Brown University studying applied mathematics and economics, and I specialize in helping students understand challenging quantitative subjects in a clear and intuitive way. I tutor statistics, econometrics, calculus, probability, STEM subjects, and also help with college applications and academic preparation.
My teaching approach focuses on breaking down complex ideas step-by-step so students build real understanding rather than just memorizing formulas. I like to connect concepts to practical examples and show the logic behind the math so it becomes much easier to remember and apply.
A typical lesson starts with identifying the exact concept or problem a student is struggling with. We then work through the underlying theory, followed by guided practice problems together until the student feels confident solving similar problems independently.
My lessons are designed for high school and college students who want to improve their grades, prepare for exams, strengthen their quantitative skills, or get support with difficult coursework and projects.
Because I am currently studying these subjects at a rigorous university level, I understand the kinds of problems students are expected to solve and how to explain them in a clear and approachable way.
