About Alex
My most useful tool in life is by far my ability to speak multiple languages! Not only is it useful professionally, but it has also helped me break down language barriers and make friends with people from all around the world!
Language learning does not need to be a chore! As someone who has been brought up bilingually, I know the keys to truly acquiring, and not memorising, a language.
Having been tutored before, I understand the importance of tailoring lessons to suit each individual as our brains all work differently.

My teaching method depends heavily on the students' objective!
For students looking for conversational proficiency, classes are taught in the target language and focus mainly on fluency rather than pinning down grammatical nuances. Emphasis is also put on pronunciation, expressions and listening comprehension. And if the student is travelling to their target language's country, I find it very useful to cover slang, particularly with French!
For students studying the language for exams/assessments, clases are taught in English as well as the target language. As memorisation is often demotivating for students, I prefer a method of repetition and practical use of what has been taught (e.g grammatical rules, tenses or vocabulary).
Having been brought up bilingually, I achieved an A* in both GCSE and A-level French. My Spanish is level C2, and is particularly strong in a conversational environment. I have shadowed my Mum, a French and German teacher at King's College London, on various occasions and have tutored French to two younger students throughout GCSE and A level.
My lessons are suitable for a range of levels, from beginners all the way to advanced students who are looking to brush up on the language. Be it in the work place or with friends and family, my lessons are great for anyone looking to make true progress learning a language!
As I am flexible, my lessons can range from 30-90 minutes.
