About Uge

With 5 years of experience teaching and performing the violin, I am committed to helping students develop both technical mastery and artistic expression. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning basic techniques to advanced learners preparing for exams, recitals, and performances.

One of the most rewarding achievements in my career has been helping students grow from struggling with posture, rhythm, and bowing to confident performers capable of expressing themselves through music.

My teaching focuses on building strong technical foundations such as posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expression. I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to help students gain a full understanding of music.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and motivating environment. Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, nurture talent, and cultivate a lifelong passion for music in every student.

About the lesson

I teach violin using a methodology based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to develop well-rounded musicians who are confident, expressive, and technically skilled. Lessons are personalised to each student’s abilities and goals, blending technical training with creative exercises, improvisation, and performance practice.

Motivation drives engagement. I guide students to set achievable goals, monitor progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering persistence, confidence, and enthusiasm for learning. Communication ensures lessons are interactive and supportive, providing a space for students to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas collaboratively.

Creativity is central to my teaching. I encourage students to improvise, interpret, and compose, helping them discover their personal artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that support long-term success.

In addition to violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, giving students a holistic foundation in music. My methodology nurtures technical skill, artistic expression, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.
