About Malli
I am a drum tutor with 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. I began teaching while still in university and quickly realized how much I enjoyed it. My lessons focus on clarity, structure, and steady progression. I help students build technique through simple, effective exercises. Students learn stick control, independence, timing, and rhythm reading. My approach emphasizes patience and understanding. I believe students should feel supported, not pressured. Lessons incorporate songs, exercises, and musical challenges. I tailor instruction to each learner’s interests. Building confidence is one of my main teaching goals. Students receive clear practice assignments designed for real improvement. I enjoy watching learners achieve milestones at their own pace. My teaching space is welcoming and comfortable. I guide students through various musical genres to broaden their skills. I believe drumming is for everyone, regardless of age or background. Helping people discover music brings me great joy. My drum lessons are designed to help students build strong technical skills while developing musicality and confidence. Each lesson is personalized for beginners, intermediates, or advanced players, with goals ranging from foundational rhythm skills to performance preparation. Lessons focus on timing, stick control, hand independence, coordination, groove, dynamics, rhythm reading, and expressive phrasing.
I incorporate exercises, song practice, play-alongs, and improvisation to make learning practical and enjoyable. Students receive guidance on structured practice routines, goal-setting, and ways to track their progress. My teaching environment is supportive, encouraging, and motivating, allowing learners to experiment and take risks. Lessons emphasize listening skills, musical analysis, and application in both solo and ensemble settings. Students gradually develop technical precision, coordination, independence, and musical awareness. I celebrate milestones to maintain motivation and reinforce progress.
Each session balances structured skill-building with opportunities for creativity and expression. Drumming becomes both a disciplined skill and a means of artistic expression. Lessons help students gain confidence, versatility, and independence. Students leave sessions with new techniques, musical inspiration, and motivation to continue growing. My goal is to guide learners toward becoming confident, expressive, and technically skilled drummers capable of performing in any context.
