About Cameron

My passion for cooking, especially bread baking, has never faded. Friends and work colleagues always tell me to change my profession to teach others in the art of baking (breads) and general cooking! They've all tried the fruits of my labour, and are never disappointed. As I have raised children, my thought in cooking has always been ... * Is this the healthiest way I can make it, and still taste great? * What healthy ingredients can I add that the kids won't know about ;) ? * How can I keep sugar levels down in the desserts and cakes without compromising the sweetness? I've learnt all the tricks and they all still work! :) I have teaching experience at secondary school level, and have privately taught many fine people in aspects of IT and home computing. I can think of nothing more rewarding and satisfying than sharing my knowledge and love of bread baking and general home cooking with others. The sense of reward and satisfaction then gets passed onto you!

About the lesson

My love for cooking and baking is infinite; some call me obsessive, but I simply have a deep passion, and find it very therapeutic. I am very experienced in bread baking - 30+ years, and in the past 4 years, have been successfully baking sourdough loaves. I have shared my knowledge and know-how with locals, who, after 1 session, are now hooked. As most people prefer the comforts of their own kitchen, and after all - cook in their own kitchen, it is sensible for me to conduct sessions in your kitchen, your tools. My sessions would generally last minimum of 2 hours, but can go up to 4 hours - if you're up for it! If we're talking sourdough bread baking, it may require a follow-up session the next day. I have a vast array of approaches to suit everyone - we're all different - and I adapt to your personal preferences ... within reason :) As I have taught young adults in the education sector, and have a full & clean DBS, I happily teach anyone from 16 right up to the mature age of mums, dads & even grandparents! We're all still young enough to improve and master the art of cooking, and bread baking! Once you learn how to bake bread, you'll likely never go back to bought bread. Other dishes I've whipped up many times over include: Breads: • Regular loaves • Seeded loaves • Half-half (W’wheat/white) • Sourdough Desserts: • Sticky date pudding – Aussie style • Banana bread Dinner meals: • Thai red & green curries • Pasta sauces • Tuna • Cabanossi • Bacon & Tomato • Bolognese • Chicken • Chilli Con Carne • Chicken or Veg Stir-fry – great for kids’ school lunches
