About Ana

I am a Biology student and C1 IELTS certified speaker from Brazil who uses English daily for research and international collaboration. Outside of the lab, I’m a huge fan of movies, TV shows, and anime, and I spend much of my time reading or diving into deep conversations about science and animals. Having navigated the journey to fluency myself, I understand the frustration of having complex ideas but struggling to find the right words to express them naturally.

In our sessions, we focus on building reflexes rather than just memorizing rules. Using a 5-step practice method, we take the phrases you actually need—whether for your career or your favorite hobbies—and drill them until they become automatic. This approach is designed to stop you from translating in your head so you can speak with a natural flow. Whether you are a fellow student, a STEM professional, or just want to chat about science and culture, my goal is to help you finally feel like yourself when speaking English.

About the lesson

I use a student-centered, oral-first method designed to build speaking reflexes. Instead of lecturing, I use Guided Discovery to help you find the right words yourself. My main tool is the Vanishing Drill: we start with a full phrase and gradually remove words until you can say the entire sentence naturally without thinking about the grammar.

Each session follows a 5-step "Active Practice" cycle. We start with 3–5 open questions to get you talking, then I introduce new vocabulary through context rather than dry definitions. We use Concept Checking to ensure you understand the exact nuance of a word, followed by drilling to move the language into your long-term memory. We finish by applying those new phrases to your specific life or work.

I am a Biology student with a C1 IELTS score. I don’t just teach grammar; I teach you how to communicate complex ideas. Because I use English daily for research, data presentation, and international collaboration, I know the difference between "textbook English" and how people actually speak in professional and academic settings.

My lessons are for Intermediate to Advanced (B1–C1) learners who feel stuck at a plateau. I specialize in helping University students preparing for research or seminars, STEM professionals who need to explain technical data clearly, and serious learners who want to speak with a more "automatic" flow.
