About Yoko

I have lived in seven countries so far and I was born and raised abroad. I studied marine biology at James Cook University in Australia and acquired my Bachelor of Science. After that I studied business and accounting and obtained my Master of Business Administration (MBA) & Master of Professional Accounting (MPA).

I have taught English since I moved back to Japan almost 5 years ago. My students age range from 0~82 years.

My main focus currently is in teaching students English test taking skills. I am currently teaching IELTS, TOEFL, Eiken, and TOEIC, all with extremely positive results.

My lessons will be conducted in English as much as possible. I will only use Japanese if your level is low or if you truly can't understand my explanations.

About the lesson

I will assess your current level through easy conversation. From there I will ask what your main focus is and and build a lesson plan accordingly. I will always explain each section in detail, unless you are already familiar with the specific test.

I will also give lots of homework tasks each week for you to complete. Most of our lessons will revolve around checking your answers, figuring out why you got the answer wrong, answering questions from the students and doing more practice questions if time permits.
