About Dave
I’m a passionate bass player with over 16 years of experience, including 4+ years of live performance. I’ve had the honor of playing at iconic venues across Washington State, including those where Nirvana and Alice in Chains started. Over the years, I’ve honed my technique, theory, and musicality through dedicated practice and formal lessons. My journey began with self-teaching, but it was the in-depth lessons that truly shaped my approach to bass. Whether on stage or in the studio, I’ve always prioritized personal expression and creativity in my playing. My goal is to share that passion with others and help them develop their own unique voice on the bass.

My teaching approach is tailored to your unique musical journey—whether you're picking up the bass for the first time or refining your skills after years of playing. I’ll meet you where you are, guiding you through technique, theory, and deep dives into your favorite songs. I teach all genres, helping you develop the versatility to groove in any style, from funk and hip-hop to blues and metal. As Bruce Lee said, “Absorb what is useful, discard what is not, and add what is uniquely your own.” I apply this philosophy to music, blending techniques from all styles to help you develop your distinct voice on the bass. Ultimately, my goal is to build your confidence, shape your musical identity, and turn you into a proficient musician.
