I firmly believe that dance is a universal art form - for everyone, accessible to people of all backgrounds and abilities. It serves as both a fantastic form of physical exercise and a powerful medium for expressing a wide range of emotions. Moreover, dance has the unique ability to enhance the creative aspects of the mind. In my classes, you'll discover...

* Personalized 1:1 instruction for choreography for events, weddings, and more.
* Group classes for Bollywood, semi-classical, and classical dance forms.
* Engaging exercises to enhance flexibility and grace.

  • What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

I started learning Kathak at the age of 8. My mom played a crucial role in this journey by finding an excellent teacher and motivating me to take up the art form. She dedicated a significant amount of time driving me to and from the dance classes, showing unwavering support in nurturing my interest.
  • What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

I've always loved dancing, with Kathak being my favorite form. I enjoy exploring new dance styles. Recently, I added running to my routine, along with playing badminton and keeping up with regular gym sessions.
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

Kathak has been a significant part of my life for over 15 years, bringing me peace and satisfaction. It feels like I'm spending quality time with myself, and witnessing the grace and emotions of my Gurus on stage adds to that profound experience. Moreover, practicing Kathak enhances my concentration, which serves as a strong motivation for my continued dedication to this beautiful art form.
  • Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

I experience a sense of fulfillment, if not pride, after every modest performance in front of an audience. The joy intensifies when I see smiles or receive applause. However, my happiness reached new heights when I earned my BA degree in Kathak, opening doors to showcase my talent at various stage shows, both at the state and national levels.
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

My career in computer science sometimes made me distant from dancing, but that only fueled my determination to keep at it. I started participating in small stage performances whenever I could, and gradually, it motivated me to dance more. Now, I've found a balance between my work and my passion for dancing.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

I would genuinely love to take a walk with my dance guru and learn the secrets behind her amazing dancing skills, especially at the age of 50. On the other hand, I'm currently fascinated by Caroline Girvan, a former personal trainer turned fitness celebrity. I'm curious to ask her about the source of her generosity in providing free content (no ads on her YouTube videos) and what inspires her creatively to design such diverse and effective workouts.
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

I believe that art serves as a stress buster; it's a creative outlet that helps you discover yourself. My advice to others is to enjoy the act of dancing without overthinking about perfect right and left movements. For me, dance is nourishment for the soul (big talk, but sorta true!), and I sense that it beautifully channels people's emotions.
  • What makes you a Superprof in sports?

Beyond my degree and Kathak learning experience, what truly sets me apart is my unyielding zeal to take a chance, returning to Kathak and striking a balance between software development and dance. I'm passionate about spreading the message that you don't need a career in the arts to learn and relish it. Dance is genuinely for everyone, and anyone can embrace the joy of learning it.
