About Katy
Jazz improvisation and complex music theory are surprisingly accessible when you break them down. I focus heavily on rhythm, timing, and proper posture to ensure you have a solid physical foundation.
My approach balances deep technical study of dynamics and expression with the practical joy of playing pop and contemporary pieces. Five years ago I transitioned from the stage to the studio to share what I know. I enjoy using memorization techniques and focused ear training to help students feel secure at the keys. It is a rewarding process to see someone grow from their first notes to a confident performance.
