About Effie
Honestly, 10 years of playing and teaching means I have seen every possible hurdle a guitarist faces. From simple power chords to complex scales and modes, the breadth of the instrument is vast.
Holding a BMus from the New Zealand School of Music provided the technical foundation for everything I teach today. It is fun.
Electric technique and barre chords are part of our regular routine for students who want to excel. I guide you through fingerpicking, reading sheet music, and those tricky chord transitions that define your sound.
Strumming patterns and theory are integrated directly into songs so you never feel like you are just memorizing dry facts. Preparing for grade exams is a standard part of my work with dedicated players. I look forward to helping you reach your specific musical goal.

Knowing exactly how to move your fingers across the fretboard makes all the difference when you are struggling with a difficult passage. We look at those specific barre chords or strumming patterns that keep getting in your way. It is about applying theory in the moment so the music makes sense while you play. Everything is collaborative.
