About Marcy
Spending my week helping players find their voice beats the road any day. I earned my BMus in Jazz Guitar from the University of North Texas and spent 13 years gigging in blues and rock bands. My 10 years of teaching experience cover everything from simple power chords to complex modes.
I enjoy helping students move past the pentatonic scale and into real musical expression. I keep a GUITAR-CENTRIC focus on theory and ear training to ensure the charts actually make sense. Teaching started as a side gig but it is now the highlight of my schedule. I genuinely love watching a student finally connect with their instrument.

Your first lesson is about identifying exactly where your hands feel stuck. One big truth is that music theory works best when you hear the notes before reading them.
We bridge the gap between technical scales and musical phrasing using my 10 years of gigging experience. Learning takes time, so I offer a monthly recorded review of your progress to track those small wins. We work through acoustic technique, rhythm playing, and even maintenance tips to keep your setup gig-ready.
Grading and exam prep are available if you want to push for formal goals. You will leave every session with a clear roadmap toward playing music that actually sounds like you.
