About Jessica
Hi, my name is Jessica. I graduated UMass Lowell in 2020 with a B.S in biological sciences and an M.S in biotechnology. My thesis was on the exoskeleton of disease carrying ticks (I am a nerd). During my time at the school, I taught undergraduate biology labs as a teaching assistant.
Now, I work at a therapeutics company developing a vaccine technology that uses nanoparticles as a delivery method. As a result of my current role, I have also gained proficiency in technical writing.
I have always been intrigued by all science and really enjoy spreading the knowledge.

I am a fan of using the "see one, do one, teach one" method depending on what the objective of the lesson is. A typical lesson plan will be split into five parts.
1. A discussion of what needs to be reviewed during the session and any supplementation that has been provided to the student that could help.
2. A break down of the objective items in a way that the student can understand (if math, I will show how the problem can be solved. If a concept, we will discuss the concept until the student understands it using supplemental material if needed).
3. The student will solve a similar problem, or explain a certain concept to me until they and I are confident that it is understood.
4. The student will teach me the concept.
5. Review of session and plan another session if needed.
In addition to Science related items, I can also help in creative and persuasive writing, resumes and cover letters.
I understand the effort it takes to get good grades in school, and I want to help others achieve their maximum potential in class.
